Five Truths
Everyone Ought to Know
God
created each and every one of us and He will be our Judge.
Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth.” (Read Genesis 1
& 2)
Nehemiah 9:6:
“You alone are the LORD; You have made heaven,
the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and everything on it, the
seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.”
Psalm 139:13-16:
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me
in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are
Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You, when I was
made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet
unformed. And in Your book they all were
written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”
Hebrews 9:27:
“It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.”
Romans 14:12:
“So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”
Ecclesiastes 12:14:
“For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret
thing, whether good or evil.”
2 Corinthians 5:10:
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each
one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done,
whether good or bad.”
Each
and every one of us was born into this world a sinner and in rebellion against
God.
Romans 5:12:
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death
through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned….” (Read Genesis 3)
Psalm 51:5:
“Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived
me.”
Isaiah 53:6a:
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his
own way….”
Romans 3:23:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Ecclesiastes 7:20:
“For there is not a just man on earth who does good
and does not sin.”
Each and every one of us deserves to be condemned by
God to eternal torment and suffering in hell.
Romans 6:23a:
“For the wages of sin is death….”
Galatians 3:10:
“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it
is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are
written in the book of the law, to do them.’”
Revelation 21:8:
“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral,
sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which
burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
God,
in His love and mercy, sent forth His only begotten Son into the world to
become true man and fulfill the righteous demands of God’s Law and to suffer
and die for the sins of each and every one of us and rise again from the dead
on the third day.
John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Galatians 4:4-5:
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son,
born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law,
that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
1 Corinthians 15:3-4: “Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures…He was buried…He rose again the third day according
to the Scriptures.”
Isaiah 53:6:
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own
way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” (Cf. all of Isaiah 53)
1 John 2:1-2:
“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not
sin. And if anyone sins, we have an
Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our
sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”
God reaches out to each and every one of us with mercy, pardon
and forgiveness for the sake Jesus Christ and His innocent sufferings and death
for all sin.
Those who believe will be saved. Those who do not believe will be condemned to
eternal suffering in hell because they have not believed in the name of God’s
only begotten Son.
John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:18, 36:
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten
Son of God…He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not
believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
Acts
Mark
2 Thessalonians 1:7-10: “…when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven
with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know
God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting
destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when
He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among
all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.”
What
about you? Have you turned to the LORD
God in faith that He forgives and accepts you for the sake of Jesus Christ,
God’s Son, and His innocent sufferings and death in your stead? Again, the Bible says:
Psalm 86:5:
“For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to
all those who call upon You.”
2 Corinthians 5:19-21: “God was in Christ
reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their
trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now
then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we
implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew
no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
2 Corinthians 6:2:
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
